Yes, No, or Wait.

I believe the Lord answers every prayer.
It may come as a resounding "yes"; as clear as my friend just received who found the perfect house for their family of seven after renting for longer than they had hoped they would. Or the privilege of witnessing the Lord's answer to Emily and Moody's prayers. "Go and fetch the children I have always known would be yours in Ethiopia."

Sometimes the answer is "no". We prayed and prayed for two beautiful little babies recently who, instead of being healed in this life, were made perfect in Heaven in the presence of the Living God. We've heard "no" when we've seen addicted parents walk headstrong into their own sin instead of turning away from that which is killing them and destroying their families. And we heard "no" today as money that Mercy Street would have loved to use to expand the Ministry here in West Dallas went to fund something else instead.

Sometimes, we've heard "wait". "Wait" sounds like this; My perfect plan is best for you and my timing is unmatched. Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not ignore it. Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For whoever finds me finds life...

Our hope is that this is a "no" on funding from this source and a "wait" from another source. Thank you for all of your prayers over the last couple of weeks and we'd sure covet your prayers as we move forward in faith looking expectantly to the Lord.

My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its full measure.

The One who owns the cattle on a thousand hills knows where the needed funds will be found. This was a clear answer. We all prayed. This project will go forth in His time, in His way and with His chosen sources!! Waiting to watch the answers.
Love you,
C.

"wait for the LORD;be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.-Psalm 27:14

Father, thank you for this ministry...Thank you for going before Mel and Trey and providing all that they and the people in this neighborhood need to see your glory..please continue to provide grace for this staff to wait and pray and not worry, Father.. for we know this leads to HOPE that you LORD will do above and beyond anything we can imagine. As I have learned, waiting forces us to sit before you in silence without murmuring, and to worship you..Grant them joy in what I believe is a wait..in Jesus Name,Amen

Beautifully written Melissa. I am sad for Trey as he worked so hard and I've heard gave a perfect presentation- so I trust that the Lord has the funds elsewhere for this project!

Wait, wait, wait.. never knew the lessons that would be for all of us to unfold as we wait on various things. Thankful we have a sovereign Lord that knows best, His timing is best and always for our good and His glory!!

I've NEVER been a patient child of God. I think thats why he laughs when I ask him 'why' all the time.

Something special is in the works for that community, Melissa, and I can't wait to see what it is!

Thank you for these words of wisdom, Melissa. It's humbling to realize that all three answers are loving and perfect. The no and wait answers that bring us grief, and suffering, and frustration, and questioning are loving and PERFECT! In my flesh, I don't understand that except theoretically, but my spirit knows that our Good Lord always answers with love and compassion.
Praying for your ministry. May the Lord pour out finances to meet every need and more!

I personally don't like the "no" and "wait" answer...I always want "yes" *sigh*
